2010 Long Drive Finalists

It was a day for father and son at the Seattle Golf Show Long Drive finals sponsored by Oki Golf and held at the beautiful Golf Club at Newcatle - as Ryan Carreras won the Open division and his father Joe placed first in the 40-60 year old division.

This second annual event was held on the first hole of the China Creek Course at Newcaslte - a long par 5 with plenty of room for our contestants to let the big dog eat.

The day started with the closest final to date - Jennifer Lambert (Lake Forest Park) needed to get her final drive in the fairway to even qualify. Not only did she manage to get that final drive in - but it was four inches past runner up Caitlin Rice of Seattle.

In the Super Senior Division (ages 61 and up) Don Ward set the pace with a drive of 284 to outpace Bruce Connaly of Sammamish (265).

Then came the Carreras show.

Joe hit the longest shot of the day to this point blasting one 320 yards to place first in the 40-60 year old division (Runner-up Chris Grany of Bothell - 265).

Then in the Open Division Final, it took Ryan until his last drive to even hit the fairway - but did he hit it with a shot of 310 yards. The only competitor left to try for the win in the open division was Blake Yonago of Lynnwood who had the longest drive of the day cranking one 321 yards in the qualifier. Blake managed 294 in the finals for second place making Ryan Carerras the winner.

Open Division
Winner: Ryan Carreras, Issaquah - 310 Yards
Runner-up: Blake Yamago, Lynnwood - 294 (Had longest of the day in qualifying - 321 yards)

40-60 Division
Winner: Joe Carreras, Issaquah - 320 Yards
Runner-up: Chris Grany, Bothell - 286 Yards

61+ Division
Winner: Don Ward, Seattle - 284 Yards
Runner-up: Bruce Connally, Sammamish - 265 Yards

Women's Division
Winner: Jennifer Lambert, Lake Forest Park - 227 (265 in qualifying)
Runner-up: Caitlin Rice, Seattle - 226 (256 in qualifying)
